FUTURE ZIONITES-AME ZION YOUTH
History of our Founder
Miss Victoria Richardson (1856-1926)
Victoria Richardson is remembered in the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church as the fine Christian young woman who founded and organized the Young Woman's Home & Foreign Missionary Society for the purpose of helping youth develop into young Christian Missionaries. A pioneer teacher and librarian at Livingstone College, she wrote the music to the college song, "My Livingstone." Miss Richardson was a lover of youth and she had the innate ability to organize. Moreover, the idea of service to others and self-improvement permeated her whole being. The first group she organized was the Temperance League in Concord, NC. In Salisbury, she also organized the first interdenominational group of youth, who delighted in carrying flowers to the sick and elderly and to the grave of the soldiers in the National Cemetery. Out of her philosophy for living and the service rendered by the interdenominational group she organized, grew the idea of organizing the young women of the A.M.E. Zion Church into a Young Missionary Society. In the spring of 1909, the first meeting of the Young Woman's Missionary Society was held. As Miss Richardson worked with the young women who were a part of the organization, she aided in their spiritual development and personal improvement. Miss Richardson's experience with this local society was so rewarding that she reported its success to the Connectional Council and Executive Board of the Woman's Home and Foreign Missionary Society in September 1909. The report was well received and forwarded to the 1912 General Conference being held in Charlotte, North Carolina, which adopted the organization. This God-inspired achievement stands today as the link between the Buds of Promise Juvenile Missionary Society and the Young Adult Missionary Society.
Let us always remember the contributions of this great Woman of God and Woman of Excellence. PIONEERING WOMEN OF THE AFRICAN METHODIST EPISCOPAL ZION CHURCH Written and Edited by Rev. Dr. Dorothy S. Johnson and Rev. Lula G. Williams A.M.E. Zion Publishing House, Charlotte, NC 1996.

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT THAT?
EVER WONDERED WHAT TO DO IN A SITUATION AND YOU FELT YOU HAD NOWHERE TO GO? FEAR NOT, YOU CAN ASK THE HARD QUESTIONS AND DO SO ANONYMOUSLY.
MY FRIENDS DON'T GO TO CHURCH AND I LIKE THEM, BUT I DON'T LIKE WHAT THEY DO OR TRY TO MAKE ME DO. WHAT SHOULD i DO? I DON'T WANT TO LOSE MY FRIENDS.
Romans 12:2 New King James Version (NKJV) STATES:
2). And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. This means that you have to decide over how you view the actions of your friends. The world is taught not to believe in God, Jesus or the Holy Spirit and it has confused what is right, justifying wrong doings. As a young Christian the task of doing right is extremely hard. You must renew youR mind, by not going with what is acceptable, but what is right. The only way to know what is right is to constantly renew your mind with teachings from the Bible. The world will tell you sin is right; fornication, profanity, drinking, drugs just to name a few and if your mind is not in tune with God's word , these things will become acceptable to you. Remember, your friends will see you doing right and standing your ground which in turn can inspire them to say no. Invite your friends to your Church, that they may also learn how to renew their minds, through God's teachings.

I'm a virgin and i'm 20 years old. I'm being pressured by my BOYFRIEND to go to the next level and i don't want to. He says if i don't then he's going to break up with me. I feel like he's my SOULMATE and we going to get married. I want to wait, but if i do i may lose my future husband. is it really fornication if we are getting married?
1 Corinthians 6:18-20New International Version (NIV) STATES: 18). Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. 19). Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20). you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
The Bible clearly states, sex before marriage is a sexually sin against your own body. God wants you to become one just as Adams and Eve did in the Garden of Eden. Adam was Eve's soulmate, she was given to Adam by God, himself. Your soulmate would wait for marriage and honor your wishes, any man who can't wait for his gift does not deserve it. 2nd Samuel, the 13th chapter tells of a situation similar to your own, that happened between two of David's children Amnon and Tamar. Amnon, his eldest child , the son of Ahinoam of Jezreel and Tamar; sister of Amnon and daughter of Maakah; daughter of Talmai king of Geshur. Amnon fell in love with Tamar and lusted after her until he was sick from not having her. He spoke about his feelings to his cousin Jonadab and Jonadab convinced him to set Tamar up, convincing him he should not be denied what he wanted, after all, he was the son of a King. Amnon pretended to be ill and asked his father, King David to send his sister Tamar to him to nurse him back to health. Tamar came, Amnon sent away all his servants and raped her. After he had gotten what he wanted he discarded Tamar like trash and put her out of his house. Tamar, lost her mind over the attack of her brother and Absalom ended up killing his brother Amnon over what he had done to his sister Tamar. Amnon could have asked his father to allow him to marry Tamar, but he wasn't interested in marriage, Tamar wants and needs or her dignity. It did nor matter that, she like himself was also the seed of a King. All that mattered was his needs and wants and after they were satisfied he was on to other things. Stand your ground, you are the daughter of a King. Tamar was alone with one who lusted after her. Remind your fiance that marriage is a sacred institution designed by God for man and woman. If he truly loves you, he will wait, if not he will continue to try to get his way. It's up to you. Remember, you are worth waiting on!
