Fortifying Our Faith While Focusing on Our Future. While we are thankful to God for the past and remember the great things He has done, we know God is calling us to look to the future and anticipate the great things that He desires to do through the people of Emmanuel AME Zion Church. As part of the process, we believe that God has placed before us the unique opportunity to liquidate the current church mortgage; as such, we are embarking on a Capital Funds Campaign. Emmanuel AME Zion Church will build our work around the theme that has been used by the South Atlantic Episcopal District of the AME Zion Church: “Fortifying Our Faith While Focusing on Our Future.” The first priority of our Capital Funds Campaign is to pay off the mortgage indebtedness to the bank, so that we may focus on Building Readiness to provide a Transformational Ministry that will meet the physical and spiritual needs of both the churched and the un-churched for the 21st Century. The second priority of the campaign is to use any gifts received beyond the mortgage liquidation to replace the HVAC system in the Family Life Center so we can expand Emmanuel’s opportunity to minister to the spiritual and social needs of those in our community. This may be a large financial undertaking for a small congregation, but we serve a big God who is still able to multiply a few loaves of bread and fish to feed thousands. On our own we can’t meet this challenge, but with God all things are possible. We are asking our friends to please consider giving a tax free, sacrificial gift to help us reach our goal of One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000) by our target date of April 15, 2015. Several families represented at Emmanuel have accepted the challenge and have committed to raise Fifteen Hundred Dollars ($1,500) each. All who give a gift of Fifteen Hundred ($1,500) will have a Memorial Brick placed in their honor at the church. They will also receive a full page “Thank You” Ad in our souvenir journal at the end of the campaign. Together in Christ Rev. Frederick A. Williamson
